Our Initial Consultation at The Y Factor
The initial consultation is the foundation of care at The Y Factor. Rather than rushing directly into treatment, this visit is designed to understand your concerns, evaluate contributing factors, and determine what—if anything—needs to happen next.
Many men arrive with a specific request: testosterone therapy, ED treatment, fertility testing, or a procedure. While we understand these goals, our first priority is understanding why symptoms are occurring and whether the requested treatment is appropriate.

What the First Visit Is Designed to Accomplish
The initial consultation serves several important purposes:
- establish a clear understanding of symptoms
- identify potential underlying causes
- assess medical history and risk factors
- clarify fertility and long-term health goals
- determine whether diagnostics are needed
This visit allows us to determine whether your concern falls within hormonal, vascular, fertility, or general urologic domains—and how they may overlap.

What We Cover During the Initial Consultation
During your consultation, we typically review:
- current symptoms and timeline
- prior treatments and response
- medical and surgical history
- medications and supplements
- lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, and exercise
- family and reproductive goals
The visit is conversational but structured, allowing space for questions and explanation.

What the Initial Consultation Is Not
The initial consultation is not:
- a rushed visit
- a guaranteed prescription appointment
- a sales pitch for procedures or memberships
- a substitute for emergency care
If a condition requires urgent intervention, referral or escalation will be discussed.

Who You Will See
Initial consultations may be conducted by a physician or a trained mid-level provider under physician oversight. All care plans are reviewed within a physician-led framework.
This ensures consistency, safety, and appropriate escalation of care.

In-Person vs Telehealth Consultations
Depending on your concern, consultations may be conducted:
- in person
- via secure telehealth
Telehealth is appropriate for certain evaluations, discussion of symptoms, review of labs, and counseling. Some conditions require in-person examination or imaging.
