Vasectomy Reversal in Houston
If you've had a vasectomy and have since changed your mind about your fertility, a reversal is possible. A vasectomy reversal reconnects the pathway for sperm, which may make pregnancy possible.
The Y Factor uses modern techniques backed by our board-certified urological expertise to reverse vasectomies for men across Houston. We use a custom approach to design a wellness plan for your health and fertility goals.

No-Scalpel Vasectomy Reversal
Before starting the vasectomy reversal, your urologist will determine the appropriate anesthesia option for your procedure and make sure you remain comfortable throughout surgery. During the procedure, a urologist will make an incision in your scrotum to find the ends of the vas deferens and the vasectomy site. Scar tissue or blockages on the vas deferens are removed.
The urologist will examine the fluid from the testicles to determine if sperm is present. If there is sperm, the vas deferens can be reattached using a vasovasostomy technique, where the severed ends of the vas deferens are sewn back together. If there is no sperm, the urologist will perform a vasoepididymostomy that attaches the vas deferens to the epididymis, a small organ in each testicle that holds the sperm. Your urologist will decide during the procedure which technique to use.
After these procedures, your incision is closed, completing your vasectomy reversal. This surgery is an outpatient procedure, so you will likely go home the same day.

What to Expect From a Houston Vasectomy Reversal
If you are reversing your vasectomy to try to conceive, we will help you understand your fertility before and after surgery. After a successful reversal, sperm may begin passing into your semen again within a few weeks.
About six to eight weeks after your vasectomy reversal, our urologists can check the count, activity and shape of sperm in your semen through a semen analysis. If your sperm are healthy, your vasectomy reversal may help you and your partner conceive naturally without other fertility treatments.
Though undergoing this surgery can make pregnancy possible, various factors will impact your reversal success, including:
- How many years have passed since your vasectomy
- Your sperm health
- Your diet and exercise routines
- The location of blockages that may develop after surgery
- Your partner's age and fertility
The team at The Y Factor will discuss your fertility goals with you to help you determine if a vasectomy reversal is right for you.
